Notes on the use of outboard engines

What to look for in a two-stroke outboard engine, e.g. fuel and oil.

It is recommended to use unleaded petrol with an octane rating of at least 93 c in outboard engines. The use of counterfeit petrol can reduce engine life, start-up problems and other engine failures. Please note that as petrol is volatile, an occasional small spark may cause an ignition or fire, so do not smoke around petrol and do not fill the tank with petrol. Please stop the engine before adding petrol to the tank.

2. Use original tc-w3 engine oil, no other 2-stroke engine oil is recommended. Do not mix different brands of engine oil, mixing different brands or types of engine oil may cause gelling and blockage of the oil filter screen, which will result in obvious engine damage.

Mixing ratio: 50:1 for unleaded petrol and oil, 25:1 during the 10 hour break-in period.

Daily maintenance of outboard engines

Outboard inspection and maintenance and servicing items:

Before each use of the outboard

1. Check that the emergency flameout pull cord switch will turn the engine off and shut it down.

2. Check that the fuel system is not aged, deteriorated or leaking; 2. Check that the fuel system is not aged, deteriorated or leaking.

3. Check that the outboard is securely fastened to the deck of the boat.

4. Check that the camel operating system is not tangled and that the parts are not loose.

5. Check whether the fasteners of the operating fork linkage rod are reliable.

6) Check that the propeller blades are not damaged.

After each use

1. Drive in saline or domestic sewage to clean the outboard's cooling system.

2. If driving in saline water, clean all the salt and clean the propeller and the exhaust pipe on the gearbox in fresh water.

Every 100 hours of operation or once a year.

1. Lubricate all lubrication points; if running in salt water, lubricate more frequently.

2. Check and clean spark plugs.

3. Check for dirt and impurities in the engine fuel filter.

4. Replace the water-splitting fuel filter.

5) Check for damage to the anode; if running in salt water, increase the frequency of inspection.

6)Drain certain lubricants from the gearbox and use new lubricants; lubricate the drive shaft splines.

7)Check the power tilt working fluid.

8)Check the battery

9)Adjust the carburettor

10)Check the engine timing setting; 10)Check the engine timing setting.

11.Check control cable adjustment.

12)Use quicksilver engine strength cleaner to remove engine dirt; 12)Use quicksilver engine strength cleaner to remove engine dirt.

13) Check the tightness of the ground bolts, nuts and other reinforcements.

14) Replace the impeller of the water pump (if it is overheated or the water pressure is not sufficient, replace it as soon as possible).
